A base that rocks, a drain pipe in the path, or fresh marks under the feet all point to a different setup than a safe that already sits flat. In Excello, we look at the slab, the wall behind it, and the safe’s weight before any fastening starts. A small home safe and a steel cabinet safe do not need the same anchoring points.

What decides the approach

The safe’s body, bottom plate, and door swing shape the job. A thin concrete slab asks for a different anchor than a wood floor or a steel dock. The depth of the feet, the spacing of the bolt holes, and the space behind the door all matter. If the dial sits close to a wall, we leave room for a hand to turn it. In Excello, we also check whether the base must be tucked against one side or centered for access.

How the job goes

At the site, we set the safe where it belongs and mark the anchor spots. We check the floor for a seam, a pipe, or a hollow section before any fastening starts. Then we drill for the anchors, set the base, and fasten the safe down so the body sits steady. If the door opens wide, we watch for any scrape against the nearby surface. We also check the handle, the dial, and the feet after the fasteners are set.

Looking after it

Afterward, keep the floor clear around the base so grit does not build under the feet. Wipe the door edge, the dial, and the handle with a dry cloth so dust does not settle into the moving parts. In Excello, a loose fastener, a change in the way the door swings, or a new wobble at the base means the mount needs attention. If the safe sits on concrete, check for cracks near the anchor points and look for rust at the bolt heads.
